Monday workout followed by a yummy yet simple dinner :)

It has been a while since I blogged about my workout. Well, I have not much of breakthrough so far, just trying to maintain the record of one hour of running on treadmill, cardio mode.

Yesterday I did the running again and managed to capture this shot when i was done on the treadmill.
7km in an hour - not too bad i guess
I think I did not share with you in my blog on another reason I need this workout besides burning fat. I signed up for Penang Bridge run for the first time :D Surely with the current training record, it will be kinda tough for me to complete the half marathon in 3.5 hours. Therefore, I need to push myself further but I'm not sure how am I going to do it. Any advise?

After the evening workout at gym, I had dinner with Min Fei at his rented apartment since he brought back his mom's cooking from home on Sunday. It is one of her mom's signature dish - homemade yong tau foo. Yumz! So we reheated the dish by steaming it in a big steel pot as we do not have microwave oven. While waiting for the dish to be ready, I decided to fry eggs so that we can have more variety to our simple dinner for the night.

fried eggs :D (sorry, they don't look presentable)
yong tau foo
Here is what our dinner look like in the picture below. We bought the rice from the stall selling bak kut teh nearby and it costed RM 1.60 for two packets of plain rice (nowadays you hardly find 50 cents plain rice anymore). Of course I gave a few spoonfuls of rice away to Min Fei!

The meat paste made by aunty was a combination of fish and pork, stuffed in beancurd, tau fu pok, and green chilies. I luv them all!! The dish is a bit too salty by its own but it goes perfectly well with the plain rice =)

I felt really full after the dinner and I didn't feel guilty for taking rice during dinner time. Notice the red plastic bag on the left? haha.. it's bak kua from Ipoh. I took one piece of that too .... Ooooops >.<
Hahas....Actually I have decided to stop skipping dinner after trying it for about 5 days during weekdays, for a consecutive of 2-3 weeks but it's not really effective for me to lose weight by doing so. Instead, I was having some stomach discomfort quite often during those time. I guess I need to eat my dinner to lose weight healthily. Moreover, I need enegy to run kan? :)

Happy Tuesday peeps :)

Friday with tears and sweat

I pushed the heavy door open and walked into the familiar place again this evening. Still seeing people running and cycling there even though it's a Friday.

I was very emotional these two days. Just wonder why the number is not going down as quickly as I thought it would. I had been very discipline this one whole week, and yet the results is not very encouraging. WHY?

I should have controlled my emotions during my workout.. At certain point i really almost cried but then i could't because i was gasping for air and panting like Conan after we bring him for a walk outside. i found it really funny now.. hehee.....  i tell you,
You cant cry when you are doing workout!!!!!
do try it out yourself and let me know...

Ahh...  was really frustrated and disappointed with myself! Just as I thought it was gonna be a gloomy Friday night for me, he came in. and joined me in the gym. I guessed he could sense my sadness, or saw my status update in FB maybe... not sure.. but the fact that he went to gym this evening was an encouragement to me.

We went over to Nando's to join the gang for dinner. Guess what I ordered? Quarter Chicken with Peri Chips and Coleslaw for sidelines!!!!!!! no lahhhhh of course................... I ordered this instead
Photo taken after i finished half of the salad

Caesar Salad (which i very much regretted later) because of the Parmesan Cheese they sprinkled on it (i dun like Parmesan Cheese) However, i did finish the salad and it also filled my empty stomach for the evening.

I'm feeling so much better now!
I know that I'm not supposed to be so emotional and breakdown so easily. What to do, even the greatest machine breaks down occasionally and need  maintenance right?
I will continue on this journey with a better spirit next week. Though it's a bumpy ride, but I know I will never walk alone :)
Blessed weekend to you all.

Monday with no sweat

I was determined to resume my workout session today after a weekend stuffed with food. After Friday's fish head steamboat at Raja Uda, yesterday I had something like the one below @.@ as we were celebrating my brother's birthday at Kim Gary. Not  forgetting to mention that KFC on Saturday night.
I read C-A-L-O-R-I-E-S on this plate. Can u read it too?

Too bad, things turned out not the way I expected it to be when 5pm approached. There was an urgent task last minute in the evening and I need to stay back a while to settle my work in order that the production parts can proceed tonight. Sigh.

So no sweat for today. But I joined the usual gang for dinner and ordered this:

Yeah.. it's a "Horlicks Juak" (hot Horlick)!!!!
And I had nothing but the hot drink for dinner. Being sympathy with me, Min Fei offered me half a piece of bai kut ong (pork ribs) from his plate. >.< and so I got to chew on the juicy pork for a few seconds before I swallowed.

Now the clock shows 11.21 and I'll be going to bed soon with the small chunk of bai kut ong and horlicks digesting in my stomach. I could feel it.
No sweats and no fats (plz don't tell me the Horlicks is fattening, please dont)  >.<
Good night peeps :D

dinner and workout - I chose workout tonight

I went to gym late today. My initial plan was to exercise on the Arc Trainer machine for 20 minutes before taking a nice bath and headed to Batu Maung to have our usual dinner with Min Fei and colleagues. But after 20 minutes, I decided to stay back and run on the treadmill. And so the gang left me there
>.<

It was at first kinda pathetic, as I could imagine them eating their favourite kam hiong pork rice / bai kut ong (pork ribs) rice while chit chatting there, and here i am sweating and running on the boring machine... But after the first 20 minutes, I realised that I could still go on with another 20 minutes on cardio mode. Therefore I spent 40 minutes on the treadmill and 20 minutes on Arc Trainer (a total of 495 calories burnt) for today. Not sure was it good enough for a person who is desperate to get rid of the fats like me, but tonight I had this sense of achievement as I was able to resist the temptation to go dinner and take another bowl of soupy mee / rice which would be adding extra calories to my body. Moreover, tomorrow night we are heading to BM for a nice steamboat dinner at Zi Wei Yuan Steamboat (紫薇園魚頭火炭爐) to celebrate our 3rd working years anniversary. aiks, now you know y I was so disciplined tonight la ;P (so that I will not be feeling bad tomorrow for the feast)

So yeah... I'm proud with the achievement! ^ ^v (Decided to take some photos of me after the nice bath at gym) hehe.... syeok sendiri la.....

decided to syeok sendiri (SS) after drying my hair

looked tired but definitely satisfied with the achievement today ^^

Initial plan after reach home = 1 vitagen while enjoying HK series on Astro
Turned out to be = 1 vitagen + some nice durians found in the fridge + pasembor which i shared with mom while enjoying HK series on Astro

good night peeps
