Valentine's Day with a cough

How was your V day, peeps? For me it was just another busy day at work. Moreover, i am down with a cough this week, a real bad one. He already told me on Monday night that he's not bringing me anywhere cuz I am not supposed to go out but to rest at home. ~TOTALLY DOOMED~

Anyway, it turned out to be less gloomy at the end of the day, as my dear colleague gave me two cute figurine cookies of angry bird before she left office.

After dinner, he brought me to Starbucks for a short date! what a lovely surprise!! aw....... thanks dear for the sweet thought :) i know that you will always find your ways to cheer me up even when I'm sick on this special day :)

He said can use as a brick to throw at ppl! LOL

Well i have to admit that it's slightly too puffy due to its interior spacious compartments for cards and coins. 

But I like it a lot because I can now keep more things in my purse in a more organized way of course. :) hehe

By now you would be asking what did i give him for V day rite? No I didn't get him a gift. Reason is simple:  he didn't want one. LOL

New Year old post

Peeps, Happy New Year to you all.
I must have missed out a zillion of your exciting posts for the past months.

Same for you dear friends, I have failed to update you guys with the exciting events that have happened during these few months.

Of course the major event happened in November 2011 was the Penang Bridge Half Marathon that I participated for the first time in my whole life!

Previously I have updated in my posts on the training I did over the last few months before the marathon, and I was actually attempting to hit two birdies with one stone.
1. Build stamina for the half marathon
2. Reduce weight and hoping to get rid of 'spare tyre' around my tummy

I think I have done item No.1 quite well. During training, I tried to keep my running pace slow and steady. During the actual day, I also ran with the pace I used in my training. I did not have much problem in running up the bridge and doing a U-turn at the middle of the bridge. It was on my way down from the bridge I had some difficulty in maintaining my pace due to stomach cramp, and followed by tiring feet and aching muscles due to long hours of running, especially on the route towards the finishing point. Gosh, the road was straight, dull and boring. The power bar I bought for RM8 per piece did some help in dragging me towards the finishing line! Yes, I did it. I DID IT!!!!

Thanks to all my friends and blogger friends, who have supported and encouraged me during the trainings. I truly appreciate the advice and cheers given to me. Above all, thanks to God, for providing a fine weather for the morning. It was thunderstorm and lightning on Saturday night at around 10pm and we all thought that this weather would last till the morning but the rain stopped totally before the marathon started. The sky during the early morning was so clear that I could see the moon shinning brightly over our heads as we were running up towards the bridge. Thank God for giving me the perseverance and good health to prepare for this race.

I would like to share with you the running gears I have invested in this run.

ASICS GEL 1150

Yeah... my first pair of Asics running shoes. Started using it for my training for about two weeks before the actual marathon. Love it to the max!!!

My chio digital watch

Why i said it is chio? Cuz it is in apple green colour and I bought it for RM8. Yeah.. .it is 8 ringgit!! I found this gadget at 1st Avenue one week before my marathon. It did a great job in keeping time during my run and most of all, it comes with light up dial function wei.... I could check the time during the early morning when the sun was not up yet. Until today, it is functioning well.

Special Day (Part 1)

Monday night after work he insisted on to go down to 1st Avenue shopping mall for dinner as he wanted to get me something that I always wanted.. which is an eternal home for my Choco!!!!!!!

I found this lovely bag on ebay sometime ago but I just felt insecure by paying US$31.95 plus another US$25 online for the item to be shipped out from Korea. Moreover, it's US$ 56.95 (RM 188) for a synthetic leather cross bag ler...I didn't really want to spend so much.. Anyway, I mentioned to him about this cute bag sometime ago, when I first got my mini instax 7s. We also found this bag sold in a shop at the basement of 1st Avenue, called Analog Kaki. But then, it's still not cheap.. RM 169 >.<

He remembers it till now, and decided to get one for me as a gift. I'm so very happy as he knows and remembers what I told him. He might not be a romantic type of guy but he has a sensitive heart, not all the time though :P
We chose one that is in dark brown color, and below is a snap shot of my lovely bag!

I truly love this chic and cute cross bag that designed specially for mini 7s. My baby fits perfectly in the bag and there is still space for an extra pack of film.

Meet Conan - the new addition to Tan's family

Hi all, it's been almost 3 weeks since i posted a blog. >.< I better not make this a habit. bad bad bad... have to blog more regularly....

Hmm.. of course many things happened during these silent weeks....

But today i'm gonna write about our new addition to my family. *wink wink*

hehe.... paiseh paiseh.. his face a bit grumpy due to he was about to be bathed by me... poor thing...kekeke..

Conan is a 5 year old Shih Tzu (a fully grown adult doggie - ah pek liao?) and you guys might be wondering how did we get him...

He's actually given away by my mom's friend. The owner's husband is kinda fed up and stressed up with the doggie when he barked in the middle of the night whenever there was thunder storm.. but how did he tolerate this for five years? Don't ask me.. I also dunno leh... >.< 

However, the previous owner and her kids loved Conan very much. (Conan the doggie was actually a birthday gift for the son and the puppy costs RM 1k with microchip implanted on his body and birth cert  is included). They reluctantly gave him away as Daddy could not stand the disturbance at night anymore... 

To cut the story short, we adopted him =) This is almost the 3rd week he's with us... He no longer look depressed as he was when he first arrived. He's now a cheerful (but lazy) and cute dog. Frankly, I don't really like dogs with short muzzle like pug, bulldog and shih tzu. But now after three weeks with Conan, I adore him!!!!!!!the cuteness in his look just grows each day

This Saturday morning mom was away in school. So I have no one to help me so I decided to bath Conan all by myself...

I think I still need to brush up my skills to bath a dog. A bit kelam kabut as this was my first time doing it alone. I still do not have a single idea on how to clean his ears, from the inside i mean.
Last week I was the assistant to my mom and this week no one assisted me!!! >.<

Any advises from you all are very much welcomed and appreciated!!!!!!!!

Recently I just finished using my 1st pack of films.
I have a story to tell on how I realised the films have been used up. hahah..

It was that night when we went for a dinner at Kim Gary. We wanted to get a group photo in front of the retaurant after the dinner. Due to it's restriction for us to take multiple shots like what we always do with our compact camera or DSLR (you can but the films are bloody expensive!), we actually tried to get our pose ready (in order to fit into the picture), and it took some time to get everyone positioned nicely for a shot using my Cheki. Thanks to a leng chai stranger, who walked up to us and volunteered to help us to take a picture without the need for us asking around

So I gave him a quick guide on how to press the shutter button. (it was actually situated on the front of the body) "One, two and three!". He pressed the shutter button and done. The buzzing sound could be heard and everyone was anticipating on the film feeding out from the camera.. hmm.. hey.. a few seconds gone but nothing came up yet.. the buzzing sound continued but nothing came out of the camera.

We tried a few shots, but still did not see film coming out from the camera eventhough the buzzing sound was heard. Strangely, the film counter did change (it decreased each time we pressed the shutter when it is supposed to increase to 10 max.). In the end we took our group photo with Jason's D90  =.=

It did give me a sense of disappointment when I thought something was wrong with my Choco which I just bought a month ago. The 7 of us decided to go together to a Lomo shop nearby to have my Choco check. When the sales assistant opened up the case, we realised that the films were used up. Alamak.. no wonder no films coming out lar.. !

Not to disappoint everyone, I decided to buy a pack of films from the shop. Manatau the normal films are out of stock due to shipment problem from Japan. So I got the one with disney cartoons frame instead. One pack costs 10 bucks more expensive than the normal ones - RM 35 leh.... (not i pay though :P)

Last month, I got myself a cute little gadget called Mini 7s a.k.a Cheki which produces instant photos. Besides fun and can get photos instantly, one plus point of shooting with a Cheki is that the effect is nice, especially when you are taking portraits of people.. no matter how tanned skin you are, in the photo you will look fair, very fair.. I'm not sure how, but Cheki shots can have this brightening effect.. hahah better than any foundation / brightening cream / concealer you can find in the market today ^^
