I truly want to thank my beloved ah ma for giving me a packet of this special plant that has cooling effect. This plant has reduced the swelling on my gum when there was no sign of improvement after taking medicine for more than 1 week T.T
my dearest Ah Ma |
I should have turned to my ah ma for her advice one week earlier! Then I wont have to suffer for the week, when i'm only allowed to take soft diet, and to chew with only one side of my mouth. T.T
Nvm that already, better late than never, my gum has healed after 4 days of special care. I'm not sure what is the English name for it but in Hokkien it is called "Ban Teih Im" which looks like one in the photo below.
Here's my ah ma's home remedy for swelling gum which is caused by the excessive heat in our body.
Rinse the leaves with water to remove the sand and dirt, then sprinkle just a little pinch of salt on the leaves, and make them into a small ball and place it on the affected area in your mouth, let it 'soaked' there for about 5-10 minutes before you take it out and throw away. I did it twice a day, after waking up and before going to bed.
The leaves that can do wonders and relieve swelling gum or even sorethroat

Glad that your swelling gum has subsided!
I din't know about this powerful plant!
That looks like daun pegaga. I'm a firm believer of all these natural remedies.... Anytime better than the western poisons.
I got a sore throat which doesn't heal for days, even I took antibiotics. Then, I was given some leaves which are very bitter by my SIL and the pain went away. Not sure if it's the same as yours.
It's God medication, btw.
Hayley, thank God that I'm fine now. yes.. the leaves are powerful.. maybe those older ones will know about it. if u come pg get from me, i take from ah ma, and u can just grow the plant in a pot. :)
suituapui, daun pegaga? not sure.. the leaves are small. Western medicine tend to have side effects which are not so good to our body.
ChrisAu, i took antibiotics too for my swelling gum, didn't work neither. >.< thank God for His creation. Just a tiny leave for an ultimate relief! :)
Ah ma recipe is so effective moreover its C&G *cheap & good*.
Is it daun pegaga?
Bananaz, it is definitely C&G, ah ma planted it at the corridor. and it's effective, better than the antibiotics and papase the doc gave me.
cleffairy, hi thanks for dropping by. I'm not too sure.. i just googled daun pegaga but the images showed that daun pegaga has a bigger leave. The leaves from my grandma are smaller. but they really do look similar.
