First half and second half

6 months since my last post, 6 months?! Ying Ying Dai Tao Har, this shows how lazy you are being a blogger. *fail* Here is my first post after 6 months. and I decided to blog about this past week that was unforgettable for me in my 4 yrs + working life in my current company.

Well it started off with a nice Monday as 1st half of the day was nice and easy. No Monday blue :) My dear friend invited me to join her for a lunch at town as she wanted to show me a nice cafe around town. We left office slightly earlier than usual lunch time to town. Though it was a quick lunch, i enjoyed eating in that place. Moreover, price of the food is not too expensive.

The second half of the day after i returned to office was totally opposite from the 1st half. It was terrible. It was the beginning of my tragical week when I realized that I did a silly mistake on my work. It was too late for us to correct the mistake as the parts had already been loaded in the production line.

For the next few days, I was busy with explaining, apologizing, and clearing up the mess that I myself created. Well, my program counterpart which I work closely with had a harder time actually, for he has to explain to our US counterpart on the error and provide a proper package to explain the scenario.

The error that I did was actually using a new setting that was not intended, when I was supposed to change back to the old setting after the decision was made last minute by US counterpart.

To cut the story short, I thank God as by the end of Friday, the tension was able to be reduced and finally most of the crucial things were fixed. People began to understand the whole incident as they realized that communication was also a cause to this error. It was not over yet of course, but I know that things are in better control :)

These few days I kept praying that God will help me to stay strong and not to break down emotionally. True enough God was in control. I thank God for my program counterpart is understanding and helpful to me in times like this. He didn't just leave me to settle the problem by myself. I learned my lesson, in a hard way definitely. I also thank my dear and I know that he was trying to cheer me up when he saw a less cheerful me during the week. He kept saying that "no biggie, it's just work"  My bff was also showing her concern and care too. She boiled tongshui for me and encourage me to ganbate in clearing up the mess.

This was my week, when Christmas is just around the corner. :S
i hope that i will have a good and peaceful Christmas by then.

Weekend dinner with parents

Last Saturday, I suggested to my parents to have our dinner at a nice place in Straits Quay.

Mom: Aiyo, dun wan lar.. food there is so expensive
Daughter: Come on, once in a while only mar....
Mom: Hmmm.. okay la okay la.
Dad: Are we going to eat chee cheong fun there?
Daughter: >___<|||

So I was the driver and drove them down from our home all the way to Tanjung Tokong using our family car, mini Viva. Usually during weekends brother will be around, but this time he was away in campus for his exam preparation. And sister was not around too. I decided to bring them to try out the food at Blue Reef , Straits Quay. (we could have higher budget since the two of them were not around, muahahahah *evil grin*)

After our dinner, we bought a super yummy froyo and enjoyed it at the bench outside. It was a nice evening with my beloved parents even though the dinner costed me ~RM90 and the froyo was RM13 @.@

But nevermind. For them I will spend the $ to bring them to nice places that me and min fei or my friends always have our meals. When they were my age, they did not get to enjoy all these good food because they were already starting up a family to raise up children. During those days they were working extremely hard for their three children. Today I am grateful to God for blessing them with good health despite the sacrifice they made all these years.

We went out again for dinner on Sunday night! This time, dad's paying :P

He brought us to a very famous chinese restaurant during their time and it is located in Cintra Street.
To our disappoinment, the food was not that good anymore. The char hor fan we ordered was supposed to be very nice and popular according to my dad but it turned out to be so so, nothing much to shout about. The siew mai we ordered were made using pork tendon instead of minced meat wei!!! cuz it was so tough and chewy that me and my dad could not swallow. =.= Epic failed siew mai
The egg tarts were surprisingly nice though. I like the flaky egg tarts a lot and I da pao some back for Min Fei for his breakfast the next day :)

A delicious dinner @ Delicious, Straits Quay

Hello all, I have returned after being so quiet for more than 1 month. I need to admit that I'm still lack of enthusiasm to blog sometimes, especially when i'm busy and tied up with work or events. Recently I have received a call from a blogger, reminding me that I have been MIA for a while in blogsphere, and my colleague who is also my blog follower, keeps nagging about me not posting up anything recently, that's why now I'm forcing myself to complete this drafted post, which has been pending in my blog list for a while :P

Min Fei's parents and sister came over to Penang (in July) for a short visit. We brought them to Straits Quay for a dinner, which I believe is the most happening place in this island currently. 

I know that this is a very late post (sorry for that :P). It is still a big challenge for me to update blog on a daily basis. So I am keeping all my photos and will try to write up something when I have the urge / inspiration / "semangat" to do so.

Marsala Lambshank (yummeh)

The food was good and they all came in very big portion, and of course with a slightly high price.

If you are interested to try the Marsala Lambshank, it's recommended to share it with another person unless you are a big eater.

I was told that the dessert sold there is very nice and worth a try especially the Coconut Cake, but we had too much during that night. None of us was able to try the dessert as we were struggling hard to finish the main dishes. =.= so i will come back for the dessert and afternoon tea some day. :)

Me and Min Fei decided to prepare lunch for the family on this day... and dad was complaining about the 2 packets of spagetti left unopened for quite a while already in the kitchen cabinet. So we thought it was a good time clearing the stock while it is still within the best before date (already checked, it expires in 2012 ^^)

Therefore, we prepared this nice Italian dish: Aglio e Olio 

It happens to be my dad and Min Fei's favourite type of pasta and they really don't like Spaghetti Bolognese with the tomato paste as they found it too wet and sweet.

Sarawak is too far for a lunch

We just came back to office from lunch 2 hrs ago. This morning, I had an unusual crave for Sarawak food (perhaps I have been looking at too many photos of S'wak food in someone's blog recently :P). Therefore, we went over to a shop which is opened recently in Bayan Baru, which sells some of Sarawak's specialties

I was snapping some photos while colleagues were ordering their food. We arrived a little early than other customers therefore we could still see many empty tables. I was reminded to arrive on time when I called up to make a reservation because they will release the reservation after 15 minutes. True enough, about 10 minutes after our arrival, the small cafe was filled with customers and some late comers had to wait outside. I believe most of the customers are people working in the industrial zone and everyone is out for lunch at 12 noon :D

Among the 9 of us, i was the only one ordering Sarawak Laksa. I picked SL because i tried it long long time ago when I visited Sarawak and now I wanted try it again. SL is totally different from PL (Penang Laksa).  I luv the heavy aroma of coriander leaves in my mouth. Overall the SL sold here is not bad but it would taste even better if the lime given is bigger so that the soup taste more sourish.

Quite pricy hor? but I think it's because of the environment la.. We get to enjoy the air-cond mar..
Somehow, i still prefer the authentic Sarawak laksa I ate in Kuching about 5 years ago. ..hehe....
